In February 2023, Skoda Auto India registered sales of 3,418 units, while last year in the same month, the company sold 4,503 units, making this year's sales a 24.1% YoY decrease. On an MoM basis, the company has registered a decline of 10.5%. It sold 3.418 units in February 2023, compared to 3,818 units in January 2023. Ahead of the upcoming emission norms in April 2023, almost every manufacturer is launching its various models with RDE and E-20 fuel-compliant engines. Renault, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and more have introduced their select models that comply with the upcoming RDE norms. And now, following its competitors, Skoda Auto India brought in the Kushaq with an E20 fuel-complaint engine. It is the company's first car with an E20 fuel-compatible engine. In India, the Skoda-Volkswagen group plans to be a carbon-neutral corporation by 2050.
Skoda Auto India: January 2023 Sales
In Jan'23, Skoda Auto India ranked No. 9 on the sales chart. The number of units sold increased by 27% year over year to 3,818 from 3,009 in January 2022, according to industry reports. However, MoM sales decreased by 20% from 4,789 units sold in December 2022. According to the firm, the Skoda Kushaq and the Slavia consistently sold well, contributing to the company's sales. Skoda reported 1.1% of the market share in January 2023, which was 1.0% in January 2022.

Skoda Auto India: Upcoming Launches in India
The Skoda Enyaq iV, the manufacturer's first all-electric SUV, is reportedly set to enter India by 2023 – 2024 as a CBU unit. According to market rumours, the model is currently undergoing testing. The electric SUV was unveiled in the global market in 2021 and is based on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform. Around the world, the electric SUV is available in a range of trim levels with different battery capacities and ranges. There is no official confirmation, but Skoda might sell the two-wheel-drive Enyaq iV in India with smaller battery options because it would make the vehicle more competitively priced.

Even though EV sales are still modest in comparison to the nation's total sales of passenger vehicles, they have recently gathered momentum. Looking at the emerging EV trend in our market, Skoda Auto India, like several other automakers, is also planning to explore the EV segment in India. There is no exact information on the estimated price of the EV yet, but industry rumours suggest that the carmaker may offer it at a price ranging between Rs 35 lakh and 40 lakh (ex-showroom prices). When launched in India, the Enyaq iV will compete with the models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
