Skoda Auto India has named Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as its first-ever brand ambassador. Recognised for his energetic and versatile persona, he aligns with Skoda’s emphasis on innovation and performance, as per the automaker. As the brand’s representative, Singh will play a key role in expanding its reach and enhancing customer engagement. Through strategic campaigns and promotions, the partnership is expected to enhance brand visibility and resonate with a younger, aspirational audience. To kick off this collaboration, an advertisement featuring Ranveer Singh alongside the newly introduced Kylaq SUV is set to premiere soon. According to Skoda, this step underscores its commitment to growing its footprint in India and solidifying its position as a premium automotive brand.

Skoda Celebrates 25 Years in India
Skoda Auto recently celebrated a major milestone, marking 25 years of operations in India. The company entered the Indian market in January 2000, becoming the first Volkswagen Group brand to establish a local presence. It set up a manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and began assembling its first model, the Octavia, in the country. The manufacturer's journey in India began with the first-generation Octavia, initially put together using imported components while the company worked on building its production capabilities.

Over the years, models like the Kodiaq, Fabia, Superb, and Kushaq contributed to its growing footprint. A defining moment came in with the development of the MQB-A0-IN platform tailored for the local market. The Kushaq became the first model based on this platform, rolling out in 2021, followed by the Slavia sedan the next year. The most recent addition, the Kylaq – Skoda’s first sub-4m SUV in India – further underscores the company’s long-term commitment to expanding its presence in the Indian automotive industry.
