Over 100 volunteers from Korea and India will undertake maintenance activities at major heritage sites in New Delhi.

As part of its global CSR campaign, Hyundai India has kicked off the second phase of its ‘Happy Move – Save Our Heritage” programme. The initiative, which is basically an awareness drive, will be undertaken in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at 4 heritage sites and 4 schools in the national capital.

The campaign will see over 100 youth volunteers (80 from South Korea and 24 from India) undertake maintenance activities, such as preserving amenities and gardens, and educate visitors at the heritage sites of Jantar Mantar, Qutub Minar, Old Fort and Hauz Khas. The volunteers will spread the message among children by conducting awareness drive at 4 schools in Delhi. This will be done by conducting school premises cleaning, school wall designing, maintenance of gardens and design competitions.

Commenting on the occasion, Rakesh Srivastava, Senior VP - Sales & Marketing, Hyundai India said, “Hyundai in partnership with the Archaeological Survey of India is leading to make an on-ground impact in thinking and generating importance for our rich heritage. This association for ‘Save Our Heritage’ campaign will help us to reach out to masses on the significance of our heritage. We believe heritage is a universal asset that influences and inspires people of all ages and backgrounds. ‘Happy Move’ is a step to ‘Save Our Heritage’ by sensitizing the people to understand the value of our heritage in our lives for which, we are conducting maintenance and awareness programs at four heritage sites of national significance.”

Earlier this year, the first phase of the Hyundai Happy Move volunteer campaign was conducted at 4 heritage sites in Delhi at Safdarjung Tomb, Qutub Minar, Old Fort and Firoz Shah Kotla. As per Hyundai, the program reached out to over 2,300 students in 4 schools in Delhi.
