Royal Enfield sold 73,630 units in August 2024, registering a 5% decrease from the previous year's sales of 77,583 units. Of the total, 65,624 motorcycles were supplied in the local market, indicating a 5% decline from the 69,393 units sold in August of the previous year. The sales fell in the international market as well. Last month, the company exported 8,006 units, which is a drop of 2% from the 8,190 units shipped the year before.
In terms of year-to-date (YTD) sales, Royal Enfield reported selling 3.32 lakh units between April and August 2024, which is a drop of 3% from the same period last year. It shipped 36,284 units overseas during this period, representing a 1% increase.

Royal Enfield Other Developments
Royal Enfield launched the revised Classic 350 in India last month for Rs 1.99 lakh (starting, ex-showroom). The bike now gets seven new colour options (Jodhpur Blue, Emerald, Medallion Bronze, Madras Red, Commando Sand, Sand Grey, and Stealth Black), which are spread across five new variants (Heritage, Heritage Premium, Signals, Dark, and Emerald). After the makeover, the retro-roadster gains a gear position indicator, an adjustable clutch and brake lever, and a USB-C charging connector. However, the majority of these equipment are exclusive to higher-spec variants. The bike also gets LED illumination for the headlamp, taillamp, and turn indicators.

Mechanically, the Classic 350 continues to use a 349cc single-cylinder J-series engine, which churns out a maximum power of 20.2bhp and a peak torque of 27Nm. The motorcycle has 41mm telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers with a 6-step preload adjustment at the rear. While the top-spec models have disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS, the lower-spec models feature a disc-drum combination and single-channel ABS.
