Royal Enfield, the Chennai-based bikemaker, has reported a 12 per cent increase in total sales at 81,870 units in April 2024. It sold 73,136 motorcycles in the year-ago period (April 2023). On the exports front, the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) saw sales rise to 6,832 units last month from 4,255 units in the corresponding period of the last financial year. Its domestic market wholesales in April 2024 stood at 75,038 units, an increase of 9 per cent year-on-year (68,881 units: April 2023). In terms of year-to-date (YTD) sales, Royal Enfield sold a total of 2,79,560 motorcycles during the January-April 2024 period, representing a year-on-year growth of 7 per cent.
Royal Enfield's 350cc motorcycles, including the Bullet 350, Classic 350, Hunter 350, and Meteor 350, accounted for nearly 90 per cent of sales. Whereas the 350cc Royal Enfields surpassed the 70,000-unit (72,866 units, in total) sales mark in April 2024, the sales of 411cc-engined motorcycles and above comprised 9,004 units.

Royal Enfield's Upcoming Launches
In other news, Royal Enfield – the world's largest midsize motorcycle manufacturer – reportedly plans to expand its share in the Indian market with the launch of more than six new motorcycles in FY2024–25, including the Scrambler 650, Classic 650, Scram 440, Guerrilla 450, and Interceptor Bear 650, with the latter two expected to launch in the latter part of the year.

Royal Enfield's Existing Models
