In 2010, Renault Nissan Automotive Pvt. Ltd. (RNAIPL) commenced business activities in India. The mammoth group recently affirmed that it produced 25 lakh cars at its cutting-edge Chennai facility, marking a noteworthy production milestone in our market. For those unaware, Renault and Nissan have been functioning as one company in the Indian market for the past 13 years under the name Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited (RNAIPL). The group claims that over the previous 13 years, it has manufactured 1.92 lakh vehicles annually on average. Since the plant's operations began, 20 models of both brands have been produced there.

The Renault-Nissan factory based in Oragadam, Chennai, is spanning across 600 acres of land and caters to the global markets as well. From Chennai's Kamarajar Port Ltd., the entity has dispatched above 1.15 million vehicles to more than 108 countries, including New Zealand, Australia, South-East Asia, the Middle Eastern nations, Europe, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and SAARC nations.
Renault-Nissan Production Milestone: What the Group Has to Say?
Keerthi Prakash, Managing Director of RNAIPL, shared views on the milestone and said, "The 2.5 million cars manufactured milestone is a testament to RNAIPL's manufacturing excellence and the exceptional products we create for customers in India and overseas markets. We would also like to express our appreciation to our employees whose hard work and support have helped us reach this remarkable milestone.
He further expressed, ''Moving to the future, RNAIPL is gearing up to manufacture six new models, three each for Renault and Nissan, as announced under the Alliance investment plan. We are confident that these cars, engineered and manufactured in India, will meet and exceed our customers' expectations."
Renault-Nissan: Future Endeavours
Renault-Nissan stated earlier this year that it would invest $600 million (Approximately Rs 5300 crores) in India to expand production and R&D efforts, introduce new goods and technology, and more. The creation of six new vehicles, including two electric vehicles made at RNAIPL, is one of the Alliance's future priorities. These initiatives will augment the plant's comprehensive usage and encourage thousands of jobs for years and years.

Current Product Portfolio
In our market, Renault-Nissan only offers four models at this time. Nissan exclusively offers the Magnite, while Renault offers the Kiger, the Triber, and the Kwid.
