Going with the global trend, petrol prices have been reduced in India by Rs 0.80 per litre while diesel is now cheaper by Rs 1.30.
The new rates will be effective from tomorrow, i.e., April 16th. As a result, a litre of petrol in Delhi can now be purchased for Rs 59.20 while one will have to shell out Rs 47.20 for the same amount of diesel.
"Since last price change, the trend of international prices of petrol and diesel and INR-USD exchange rate warrant a further downward revision in prices, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price decrease," Indian Oil Corporation said in a statement.
This is the second cut in fuel prices during the month of April.
