Ola Electric has slashed the prices of its S1 X range of electric scooters. Therefore, the base S1 X variant—the Ola series's entry-level model—now starts at Rs 69,999 (ex-showroom). This translates to a Rs 10,000 price reduction. For comparison, the EV maker launched the S1 X last year in August for a starting price of Rs 79,999. However, the deliveries of the scooter are yet to commence. Ola has officially announced that starting next week, the S1 X deliveries will begin across India. In addition, an eight-year/80,000-kilometre complimentary warranty will now be included with all Ola S1 scooters at no additional cost. It is important to note that the prices of other S1 X range models have been reduced as well. For the uninitiated, the S1 X comes in three variants with different battery capacities: 2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh. As for the price, these models are currently available for Rs 69,999, Rs 84,999, and Rs 99,999, respectively. Please keep in mind that the most affordable trim's price is introductory for an extended period.
Ola S1 X: New Prices
Ola says that by lowering the price, customers will find the electric scooter more affordable, which will ultimately hasten the adoption of electric mobility throughout the country. Depending on the battery pack opted for, there are three different Ola S1 X electric scooter variants. The price of the 3kWh battery pack variant has been reduced from Rs 89,999 to Rs 84,999. Meanwhile, the 2kWh battery-powered variant is now priced at Rs 69,999, down from Rs 79,999. Lastly, the top-of-the-line 4kWh battery-powered S1 X scooter previously carried a price tag of Rs 1.09 lakh; it is now available for Rs 99,999. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.
Ola S1 X: Range Details
According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), the Ola S1 X has a remarkable range of 190 kilometres, 143 kilometres, and 95 kilometres for the 4kWh, 3kWh, and 2kWh variants, respectively. It exhibits efficiency and performance with a top speed of 90km/h in the variants with larger battery capacities and 85km/h in the 2kWh variant.
Ola S1 X: Features and Hardware
With a modified headlight, handlebar, circular rear-view mirrors, and a flat floorboard, the S1 X series is essentially a more basic version of the S1 Air. The S1 X variants lack the 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen found on the S1 Air and S1 Pro, instead sporting a 4.3-inch segmented LCD. In addition, the S1 X variants feature smartphone connectivity, cruise control, and a physical key. The scooter is available in seven colour options.
The S1 X features a double-sided swingarm with a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. The scooter includes drum brakes on both ends and wheels made of pressed steel. For the 2kWh model, the kerb weight is 101 kg; for the 3kWh version, it is 108 kg; and for the 4 kWh variant, it is 112 kg.
