Nissan Motor India has recruited Saurabh Vatsa as its new Deputy Managing Director. He will report to Rakesh Srivastava (Managing Director) and assist with the firm's transformation strategy to meet the brand's ambitious 2030 targets. Vatsa was previously associated with Stellantis as a member of the leadership team and the brand head for Citroen India. Before that, he spent more than 20 years working for General Motors (GM), where he was involved in long-term missions for the company in South Korea, among others. The recently appointed Deputy MD of Nissan India has vast experience that spans across different business verticals, including Product Planning, Program Management, Sales Planning, Marketing, Communications, and Retail / Commercial Sales. Academically, Vatsa is a graduate of Delhi University, having completed an executive management programme at the London Business School and an MBA at the International Management Institute.

Sharing his thoughts on the appointment, Frank Torres, President, of Nissan India Operations said ''We are excited to onboard Saurabh at Nissan Motor India as Deputy Managing Director at this crucial juncture for the company as we head into 2024.''
He also added ''His appointment underpins our commitment to invest $600m (5300 crores INR) in India as part of the Alliance and introduce more products for the Indian consumer as part of the transformation plan. We are certain, the next phase of growth for Nissan is going to be exciting for all of us as we build on the success of the Nissan Magnite.”
Nissan Magnite Facelift in the Works?
Rumours in the industry indicate that Nissan is developing a facelifted version of the Magnite. It is expected that the SUV in its revised configuration would go on sale globally sometime in the middle of 2024. Nissan hasn't revealed any details, but the vehicle will have a lot of changes. Among the anticipated additions are an electric sunroof, a new infotainment system, and Level 2 ADAS features.

The existing Magnite from Nissan costs between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 11.02 lakh in India. These are ex-showroom prices. It comes in four dual-tone and five monotone paint schemes and competes with a range of models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Tata Nexon, the Kia Sonet, the Hyundai Venue, the Mahindra XUV300, the Renault Kiger, and the Citroen C3.
