Nissan Magnite Crosses 1 lakh Units Production Milestone in India

The Nissan Magnite, which went on sale in December 2020, has reached a significant one lakh units production milestone in India. In Chennai, the Alliance plant rolled out the 1,00,000th Magnite SUV. Within 30 months of the SUV's debut, the Japanese automaker was able to reach this milestone.

Nissan, the Japanese automaker, recently announced that it surpassed the 1 lakh units production milestone of its sub-compact Magnite SUV in the country. The Magnite was first introduced by the firm in December 2020, and in a span of just 30 months, this best-selling model in the carmaker's lineup has accomplished a remarkable achievement. There's no doubt that the Magnite has served as the company's pivotal product in the Indian market. As a result, the manufacturer is now getting ready to launch new products in our home market as it rides high on the popularity of the Magnite. For the uninitiated, Nissan has made India its primary global manufacturing base for the Magnite through the adoption of the "Make In India, Make for the World" strategy. Nissan is presently exporting the 'Made in India' Magnite to about 15 foreign countries. Meanwhile, the Nissan Magnite Geza, a unique music edition of the SUV inspired by Japanese theatre, was launched in India at a price tag of Rs 7.39 lakh, while the standard Magnite's price range starts at Rs 5.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 11.02 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

Sharing his thoughts on the latest milestone, Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India said, "The Big, Bold, Beautiful Nissan Magnite has been a game-changer in the Indian market. The production of the 100,000th Magnite is a testimony of Nissan's brand promise of providing its customers products that are high on value, safety, and strong customer service making it a global product".

Nissan has updated the Magnite with a fresh set of features with the launch of the new Geza edition, which they say will improve the sensory experience for buyers. The recently launched version, according to the automaker, is influenced by Japanese theatre and its focused musical themes. It has a variety of brand-new features, including traction control, ESP, and a tyre pressure system (TPMS). Other impressive amenities on the car comprise a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, JBL sound system, rear parking camera with trajectory guidelines, ambient lighting with App-based controls, shark fin antenna, and Beige coloured upholstery. Further, the firm started taking bookings for the Geza last month. For a nominal fee of Rs 11,000, interested customers may reserve the SUV. 

Nissan Magnite Geza Edition: Powertrain and Colour Options

The Magnite Geza Edition is powered by a single 1.0-litre non-turbo manual engine with a maximum power output of 71bhp and a peak torque of 96Nm. It will also be equipped with a five-speed manual transmission. The five colour options available for the model include - Blade Silver, Flare Garnet Red, Strom White, Sandstone Brown, and Onyx Black.

Nissan Magnite Geza Edition: Price and Rivals

Priced at Rs 7.39 lakh (ex-showroom), this new model improves on the XL version and costs Rs 35,000 more than the standard Magnite. In terms of rivals, the Tata Punch, the Renault Kiger, the Kia Sonet, the Hyundai Venue, the Tata Nexon, and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza are just a handful of the cars with which the Nissan Magnite competes in the Indian market.
