Mahindra Reveals Details on INGLO Platform

Mahindra has released an in-depth video detailing its INGLO electric platform, emphasising its advanced design and adaptability for electric vehicles. Shared on the Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs' social media handles, the video outlines critical features such as battery capabilities, design innovations, and distinctive functionalities.

Velusamy R., Mahindra's President of Automotive, Technology, and Product Development, explains that the INGLO platform is purpose-engineered for EVs, unlike platforms repurposed from internal combustion engine designs. He describes its modular and flexible structure, which will serve as the foundation for models like the BE 6E and XUV 9E. Additionally, the flat-floored layout is highlighted as a key feature, enhancing stability by lowering the vehicle's centre of gravity. This design optimises interior space, removes the central tunnel, and improves seating versatility to enhance overall comfort.

Battery Tech, Performance, and Safety Features

The INGLO platform offers two battery options, 59kWh and 79kWh, designed to deliver impressive range and efficiency. In fact, using advanced LFP battery chemistry ensures reliability and safety across varied terrains. Its fast-charging system allows the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC charger. A sophisticated thermal management system enhances performance, making it well-suited for city driving and long-distance travel.

The powertrain integrates the motor, inverter, and transmission, generating outputs between 228bhp and 282bhp for rear-wheel-drive models. Advanced systems such as semi-active suspension, brake-by-wire technology, and adaptive drive modes ensure a smooth and tailored driving experience across different conditions.

According to the brand, safety is a key focus of the platform. The low-mounted battery improves stability and enhances handling, addressing challenges common in SUVs. The structure is reinforced with ultra-high-strength boron steel and strengthened frontal sections, forming a secure protective covering for passengers. Designed to handle extreme heat, stress, and crashes, the platform ensures exceptional reliability and safety.
