MG sold 4,769 units overall in May 2024, registering a YoY decline of 4.73% from 5,006 units sold in the same month the previous year. Despite the annual drop in sales, the company posted a month-over-month rise of 6.33% with 4,485 units sold in April this year. MG announced that electric cars accounted for 36% of its total sales last month. The automaker's electrified Indian portfolio currently consists of the Comet and the ZS EV. The latter saw the highest-ever monthly sales in the previous month. MG is preparing to launch several models in India to expand its market presence. It recently trademarked the Binguo electric hatchback, which is currently on sale in China and Indonesia. Let's take a detailed look at the specs of this upcoming EV.

MG Binguo: Main Highlights
The international-spec EV is available with two powertrain options: a 31.9kWh battery with a 41bhp motor and a 37.9kWh battery with a 68bhp motor. The smaller battery offers a range of 333 kilometers, while the larger one has a range of 410 kilometres. In contrast to the Comet, the Binguo EV features a charging socket on the front right fender and supports DC rapid charging.
Dimensions-wise, the car is 1,708mm broad, 1,580mm tall, and 3,950mm long. The Binguo sports X-shaped daytime running lights, all-black pillars, and wraparound LED taillights. Inside, it gets two screens for infotainment and instrumentation, enhanced control buttons and stalks, and a two-spoke steering wheel.
Other MG Developments
MG recently launched the Desertstorm and Snowstorm variants of the Gloster SUV in India. The former has a Deep Golden colour with black accents such as the grille, alloy wheels, ORVMs, door handles, roof rails, pillars, and spoiler. Its appearance is further accentuated by crimson headlamp inserts and brake callipers. The latter, on the other hand, comes with a dual-tone Pearl White and Black paint finish with red inserts on the bumpers (front and rear), and shiny black treatment on the ORVMs with a red insert, grille, wheels, spoiler, door handles, window surrounds, and fog lamp garnish. The Desertstorm and Snowstorm have the same ex-showroom price of 41.05 lakh.
