MG Cyberster Electric Sportscar Made its India Debut
The MG Cyberster electric roadster made its debut in India last month. After being showcased as a concept in 2021, the EV debuted in a production avatar at Auto Shanghai in April 2023. The few notable design elements of MG's electric sportscar include a streamlined snout, sweptback headlights, electronically controlled scissor doors, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and arrow-shaped taillights. The Cyberster, equipped with a 77kWh battery and two electric motors—one on each axle—generates 528bhp and 725Nm. The power is distributed to all four wheels. It can accelerate 0 to 100km/in 3.2 seconds and offer a maximum range of 580 kilometres on a single charge. There is also an affordable version with rear-wheel drive and a single-motor setup. It has a smaller 64kWh battery, which delivers a maximum power of 308bhp and a range of 520 kilometres.
Some Other Highlights
In addition to this massive development, the company trademarked the moniker 'Excelor EV' in India. While there has been no formal announcement, the carmaker's upcoming EV for our market may receive this name. The company currently offers two electric vehicles: the Comet and the ZS EV. In the last two years, MG has only introduced one new model, which is the Comet. However, the company's growth in India is expected to grow faster with the acquisition of a 35% share by the prominent group JSW.
