MG Motor India has officially reported a 4.4% decrease in car sales, to 4,114 units in January 2023 from 4,306 units in the same month last year. The carmaker further revealed that production cycles are gaining momentum, which is a sign of hope for the remaining year despite persistent supply chain challenges. However, select models of the company still remain impacted. MG Motor India, which made its debut in the nation in 2019 with the Hector SUV, has since established itself as a competitive player. Aside from the revamped Hector, formally unveiled at the Auto Expo last month, the company also offers models like the MG ZS EV, Gloster, and Astor in India. Drive.Ahead, MG Motor India's vision for transportation in the future was revealed at the 16th edition of the Auto Expo 2023. The firm unveiled a lineup of 14 production-ready vehicles from its portfolio as part of its strategy. The two EVs, the MG4 and the MG EHS, also marked their debuts at the auto show in India.

The highlight of MG's at the 2023 Auto Expo was the Euniq 7, a brand-new hydrogen fuel cell electric car (FCEV). The MPV has sliding back doors. A large grille and long LED headlights dominate the towering front design of the FCEV. With a 6.4kg hydrogen tank, the MG Euniq 7 Fuel Cell MPV offers 605 kilometre of range. The FCEV, according to MG, can operate at temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius and yet maintain the said range. The MG Euniq 7 is far from a lightweight vehicle, weighing well over two tonnes, but the manufacturer claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 150 km/h. For the Indian market, MG Motor India is reportedly planning to bring forth the long-awaited Air EV. The company's Global Small Electric Vehicles platform, which already serves as the basis for a line of its vehicles, will be used to build the new entry-level MG Air EV.
