MG Motor, the British car manufacturer, recently announced a significant price cut for its Hector and Hector Plus SUVs. Prices for the 5-seater Hector SUV have decreased by up to Rs 1.29 lakh and now start at Rs 14.73 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hector is offered in seven trim levels, including Style, Shine, Smart, Smart EX, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro. Besides this, the automaker has also reduced the retail price of Hector's six- and seven-seater sibling, the Hector Plus by up to Rs 1.37 lakh. The top-of-the-line Sharp Pro diesel variant's seven-seater version has experienced the biggest price cut. The least discounted Hector Plus model, with a Rs 50,000 price cut, is the standard seven-seat Smart petrol model. The automaker has not provided any reason for the most recent price cut, although it may be related to Hector's declining sales or as part of an exclusive offer for the approaching festive season. Let's take a detailed look at the variant-wise updated prices for the Hector Plus SUV.

MG Hector Plus: Styling Details
The front end of the Hector Plus sports a bigger chrome diamond-studded grille, sleeker headlamps, a revised bumper, and redesigned headlamp surrounds. The SUV retains the same tail lamps as before, now connected by an LED strip, and has the same alloy wheels as the pre-facelift version. Further, the lower section of the tailgate bears the "Hector" name badge.
MG Hector Plus: Powertrain Options
The Hector Plus SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine. It can be coupled to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. This unit churns out a maximum power output of 143bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. Previously, this engine could also be used with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. However, the revamped SUV no longer offers that. The 7-speed DCT gearbox for the petrol engine was discontinued as well. Moreover, the 2.0-litre, 170bhp, 350Nm diesel engine used in the Harrier, the Safari, and the Compass also remains. For the Hector diesel, MG continues to offer only a single 6-speed manual transmission.
MG Hector Plus: Interior and Safety Features
A new 14-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a seven-inch digital driver's display, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and multi-colour ambient lighting are among the features added to the facelifted Hector Plus. It has a more luxurious feel thanks to the redesigning of the centre console controls and the AC vents.
Six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and ADAS features including lane-keep assist, front collision warning, lane-departure assist, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control are all included in the safety net.
