MG Motor, the British automotive brand, has announced a partnership with Jio Platforms to offer industry-first connected car features in its second electric model - the Comet. Under the partnership, the MG Comet EV will come with an embedded Jio Hinglish Voice Assistant system, which is integrated with music apps, payment apps, connectivity, and hardware. The partnership aims to enhance user experience in the Comet electric vehicle. Called ' Hello Jio', the voice assistan system is trained to understand different regional dialects and tonality of an Indian speaker. It brings to the table in-car commands and controls, with dialogues that supply information on weather, cricket, and other domains. Besides, users can also regulate the AC temperature inside the car, play songs directly, and even ask for cricket scores using simple voice commands.

The British manufacturer believes that this partnership between MG and Jio will enable innovative smart mobility solutions, highlighting the carmaker's commitment to building a futuristic urban mobility ecosystem while providing great experiences.

As part of this association, the MG Comet EV will also come equipped with Jio's state-of-the-art eSIM technology, enhancing vehicle safety. Furthermore, the technology identifies the vehicle and encrypts the communication while the vehicle is in operation.

MG Comet EV: Price, Performance & More
In April 2023, MG Motor launched the Comet EV in India at a starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric car is available in three variants: Pace, Play, and Plush. The base version Pace costs Rs 7.98 lakh, whereas the mid-spec Play and top-spec Plush variants are priced at Rs 9.28 lakh and Rs 9.98 lakh, respectively.
The all-new electric car from the house of MG is driven by a 17.3kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor. It generates 41bhp of maximum power and 110Nm of peak torque. Further, the electric hatchback has a driving range of 230 kilometre on a full charge and can be charged from 0 to 100 per cent in seven hours using a 3.3 kW charger. In terms of market rivalry, the Comet EV goes against the Citroen eC3 in our market, which retails between Rs 11.50 lakh and Rs 12.43 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
