MG Motor India is offering a whopping discount of up to Rs 1.50 lakh on the Astor SUV until the 30th of June. The discount is valid for the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine variants of the Astor. The naturally aspirated petrol variants of the car can be had with a maximum discount of up to Rs 75,000. The benefits announced by the automaker include cash discounts, exchange bonuses, corporate discounts, and some exciting prizes. Notably, these benefits and discounts may vary depending on the variant, model year, region, dealership, and stock availability.
The compact SUV is available in 5 different trims – Style, Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. The Astor SUV retails between Rs 10.82 lakh and Rs 18.69 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Drawing design inspiration from the ZS EV facelift, the Astor gets a redesigned bumper, full LED Hawkeye headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, a bold celestial grille, turbine-inspired machine alloys, LED taillamps, and a black rear bumper with chrome highlighted twin exhaust design. In addition, it also features an electrically adjustable ORVM with turn indicators, silver or glossy black door garnish, chrome garnish on the beltline, chrome highlights on outside door handles, satin silver roof rails, red brake callipers, and much more.

The SUV now comes with two new exterior colour options – Havana Grey and Candy White with Starry Black – along with Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy White, and Starry Black options.
MG Astor SUV: Engine and Transmission
The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine gets a 6-speed manual and an 8-step shift lock CVT transmission. The power and torque figures of this engine stand at 110bhp and 144Nm, respectively. The Astor is also offered with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, which makes 140bhp of maximum power and 220Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Note that the powertrains comply with the stricter BS6 Phase II or RDE norms. The MG Astor is not offered with a diesel drivetrain, and buyers looking for a mid-size SUV with an oil burner will have to look at Hyundai or Kia.
The Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos both have the option of a diesel mill, and their prices start at Rs 10.87 lakh and Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
MG Astor SUV: Features
Feature-wise, the SUV is equipped with a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity and a digital 7.0-inch instrument cluster. MG Motor's mid-size Astor is one of the most affordable cars to come with ADAS. The tech-laden SUV offers level 2 autonomous driving and features artificial intelligence. Its ADAS features include lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

MG Gloster Goes Black
Last month, MG launched the Gloster Blackstorm edition at Rs 40.30 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The new SUV has redesigned styling, additional features, and the latest Level 1 ADAS capabilities. It’s available in two drivetrain configurations – 2WD and 4WD. The 2WD model uses a 2.0-litre single turbo-diesel unit, with 163bhp, and the 4WD model is powered by a 2.0-litre twin turbo-diesel unit, which produces 218bhp.
Other features of the Gloster include a dual panoramic sunroof, a 12-way adjustable driver's seat, an 8-way adjustable passenger seat, lane change assist, and adaptive cruise control.
