In India, Mercedes-Benz has experienced its best-ever first-half sales performance. The luxury automaker sold 8,528 units between January and June 2023, an increase over the 7,537 units, or 13%, delivered during the same period the previous year. The AMG SL 55 Roadster, the G 440d, the EQB 350 4Matic, an updated A45 S and A-Class, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance, and the AMG E 53 Cabriolet are some of the recent launches of the prominent German brand in India. The Mercedes Benz GLC in the second-generation avatar is one of the upcoming models, scheduled to launch reportedly around the end of July 2023. Mercedes-Benz India Sales Performance
According to Mercedes-Benz India, the E-Class LWB remained the brand's top-selling model, but in the first half of this year, the GLE overtook the GLA as the best-selling SUV. The GLS, AMG G 63, S-Class, Maybach GLS, and Maybach S-Class, as previously indicated, were also in high demand. Further, the brand-new C-Class significantly increased overall sales. Additionally, thanks to the newly released, in-demand EQB and EQS, the company's electric vehicle line-up saw a 10x rise in sales compared to the same period the last year. The firm recorded strong results for the second quarter in addition to half-yearly revenues. With its best-ever Q2 sales volume of 3,831 vehicles, the luxury car manufacturer experienced an 8% gain in the second quarter. Additionally, it claimed a 5% increase in demand for its top-end models.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Teased Ahead of India Launch
Last month, Mercedes-Benz officially teased the new GLC in India. Reportedly, the updated model will launch by the end of July this year. Internationally, the GLC is available with two four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, as well as plug-in hybrids with a range of up to 120 kilometre, all of which come standard with 4Matic all-wheel drive. There is no official update, but several industry reports indicate that the luxury auto major might introduce the GLC 200 with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and the GLC 220d with a 2.0-litre diesel engine to the Indian market. In June of last year, the second-generation GLC made its international debut. A new range of engines, including three new plug-in hybrid drivetrains, are available for the new GLC, which is also bigger and has a more opulent and technologically advanced interior.

As mentioned above, the revamped GLC will reportedly launch in our market later in July. Upon launch, it will go up against the models such as the Audi Q5, the Volvo XC60, and more.
