Mercedes-Benz Clocks Best Ever Half-Yearly, Q2 Sales in India, Six More Launches Planned for 2024

Mercedes-Benz plans to double its EV range in India by the end of CY2024. It aims to launch three EVs in H2 2024, including the EQA, which is now on sale for Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mercedes-Benz has announced its highest-ever H1 sales in India, with 9,262 cars and SUVs sold. Compared to last year's January- June, this is a noteworthy growth of 9%. Notably, Audi and BMW also released their Q2 and half-year sales data a few days ago. It's worth mentioning that Mercedes-Benz's half-yearly sales are greater than those of BMW India by 38%. The automaker also launched the EQA electric SUV and the EQB facelift in India. The former is priced at Rs 66 lakh, while the latter starts at Rs 70. lakh. Both are ex-showroom figures. Mercedes-Benz India H1 Sales: Key Highlights

According to Mercedes-Benz, its SUV portfolio, which includes the GLA, GLC, GLE, and GLS, accounted for 55% of overall sales. The sedan lineup, which comprises the A-Class, C-Class, outgoing LWB E-Class, and S-Class, also remained in demand among prospective customers. Mercedes-Benz reported 25% of sales in H1 from Top-End Vehicles (TEV). Maybach was the fastest-growing portfolio, increasing by 108% during the period. On the other hand, the range of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) gained popularity as well, rising by 60% in H1CY24 compared to the previous year and making up 5% of all sales volumes.

As previously stated, the German automaker plans to double its EV range by the end of CY2024. It will launch three EVs in H2 2024, including the EQA, which is now on sale for Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mercedes-Benz EQA: A Brief Look

Based on ICE GLA, the SUV is available in a single variant: EQA 250+. It is powered by a 70.5kWh battery pack paired and a single electric motor that together produces 188bhp and 385Nm. The claimed range stands at 560 kilometers on a single charge. The EQA has an enclosed grille with a three-pointed star pattern, 19-inch alloy wheels, and wraparound LED taillights. It is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, two 10.25-inch screens, dual-zone climate control, a head-up display, voice commands, and connected car tech.
