The Maruti Suzuki WagonR just completed its 25 years in India, registering an important milestone. It is the top-selling CNG vehicle in our market, with 6.6 lakh units sold out of 32 lakh total sales to date. The WagonR has consistently ranked among the best-selling cars in India over the past three years (FY 22, 23, and 24). Its popularity is especially strong among first-time car buyers, who contribute to nearly 44% of its total sales, reflecting its appeal as a practical and affordable choice for new drivers.
The Maruti Suzuki WagonR was launched in the Indian market in 1999. It received several facelifts and generational enhancements throughout the years. Maruti Suzuki WagonR: Engine
The best-selling hatchback from Maruti Suzuki has a Heartect platform and is available with two engine choices. The first is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 67bhp and 90Nm. The second option is a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 82bhp and 113Nm. Both engines come with the choice of manual or automatic transmissions.

Additionally, the model offers a factory-fitted CNG option that generates 56bhp and 82.1Nm, paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR: Features and Prices
The WagonR is equipped with a 4-speaker audio system, a 7-inch touchscreen, steering-mounted controls for music and calls, rear parking sensors, hill-hold assist (available in AMT variants) dual front airbags, and ABS with EBD. It has four core variants (LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+) and is priced between Rs 5.54 lakh and Rs 7.33 lakh (ex-showroom).
