Maruti Suzuki Net Profit Rises 47% to Rs 3,649.90 Crore in Q1 FY24-25

In the April-June quarter, FY 2024-25, Maruti Suzuki reported a net profit of Rs 3,649.90 crore, marking an increase of 46.9% from Rs 2,485.1 crore registered the year before.

In the April-June quarter, FY 2024-25, Maruti Suzuki reported a net profit of Rs 3,649.90 crore, marking an increase of 46.9% from Rs 2,485.1 crore registered the year before. The main factors for the increase were cost-cutting efforts, low commodity costs, and favourable foreign exchange rates. Notably, the company's net sales for the quarter reached Rs 33,875 crore, indicating a considerable increase over the first quarter of FY2023–2024. The carmaker sold 4,51,308 vehicles domestically, up 3.8% from the same time last fiscal year. 

In total, it supplied 5,21,868 units during the period April-June, representing a rise of 5% over the same time in the previous fiscal year. The export sales stood at 70,560 units, which is an increase of 11.6%. Let's look at some recent developments of the company.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Hits 2 Lakh Unit Sales Milestone in India

Maruti Suzuki recently reported that its Grand Vitara SUV sold two lakh units in India within 23 months of its launch, the fastest sales milestone for a mid-size SUV. The first one lakh units were sold in a year, while the remaining units were sold in only 10 months. The CNG and Hybrid variants were the major contributors to the success. The Grand Vitara is sold through the company's premium retail channel, Nexa, which recently celebrated its ninth anniversary in India. 

The premium brand showed a remarkable 54% growth in the fiscal year 2023–2024, serving more than 27 lakh customers through 498 showrooms in over 300 cities. With 31.88% of Maruti Suzuki's total passenger car sales coming from Nexa products, the brand plays a major role in the company's success.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis Radiance Edition Launched in India

The Radiance edition of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis is now available in India across models such as the Sigma, Zeta, and Alpha, except for the mid-spec Delta. The new version includes a variety of accessories and a Rs 35,000 price reduction. The Sigma's Radiance edition features accessories like all-wheel coverings, door visors, and chrome body-side moulding. It is more affordable at Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom) than the standard hatch (Rs 5.84 lakh). Coming to the higher-spec versions, the new Radiance version adds accessories valued at Rs 9,500, such as seat covers, cushions, door cladding, and door visors.
