The compact SUV segment in India is highly competitive, with popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos vying for customers' attention. Most of the offerings in the segment currently have long waiting periods. For instance, the Grand Vitara's Delta CNG version has a waiting period of 6 to 8 weeks, while its all other variants command a waiting period of 2 to 3 weeks. The price of the SUV ranges between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 19.93 lakh (ex-showroom). Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Powertrain Options
The Grand Vitara is offered with two engine options: a 1.5-litre mild hybrid engine and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid unit. The former develops 102bhp, while the latter produces 114.4bhp. In addition to self-charging technology, the petrol strong-hybrid system has three driving modes: pure EV, hybrid, and petrol. The strong hybrid unit is only available with an e-CVT gearbox, whereas the mild hybrid unit comes with either a six-speed automatic or a manual five-speed gearbox. The 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine in CNG mode produces 86.6bhp of maximum power and 121.5Nm of peak torque.

The Maruti Suzuki SUV comes with several appealing features, including the SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with a nine-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in Next Gen Suzuki Connect with 40+ connected capabilities, a head-up display, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated & heated seats.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Safety Suite
Safety-wise, the Grand Vitara gets six airbags, seat belt warning for all occupants, ISOFIX for child seats, ABS with EBD, ESP, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and an Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS), which warns pedestrians of an approaching electric vehicle. This feature operates by emitting a low-pitched warning sound with an audible range of five feet. This safety feature has been included under Automotive Industry Standard (AIS) 173, which requires fuel-cell cars, hybrid electric cars, and fuel-cell hybrids with at least one electric motor or an electric motor generator to have a pedestrian safety feature.
