Maruti Suzuki will implement a price hike of up to Rs 62,000 on seven models in its range, including the Wagon R (its top-selling model for FY25), effective April 8, 2025. This follows a previous announcement of a general price increase of up to 4% to combat rising input and operational costs. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, a passenger vehicle, will see the largest price increase, while the Maruti Suzuki Tour S, a commercial model, will experience the smallest hike of just Rs 3,000. Maruti Suzuki April Price Hike: Which Cars Will See a Price Hike?
The Grand Vitara will see a price increase of up to Rs 62,000 in India, depending on the variant. It will be followed on the list by the Eeco van, which will become more expensive by up to Rs 22,500. The Wagon R will see a price hike of up to Rs 14,000, while the Ertiga and the XL6 MPVs will both experience an increase of up to Rs 12,500.

The Fronx will become costlier by Rs 2,500, and the Dzire-based Tour S will see a rise of up to Rs 3,000. As of now, Maruti Suzuki has not announced any price changes for its other models in April.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R was the top-selling car in India for FY24-25, with over 1.98 lakh units sold. Thanks to its loyal customer base, the ‘tall boy’ hatchback has held onto this position for four consecutive financial years. Maruti Suzuki claims that over 33.7 lakh units are now on Indian roads, with one in four customers buying the hatchback again. Launched in 1999, the Wagon R has been updated several times, with the third-generation model (launched in 2019) getting a significant refresh in 2022.

Currently, the hatchback is priced between Rs 5.64 lakh and Rs 7.47 lakh (both, ex-showroom). It competes against the Citroen C3 and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. and the Tata Tiago.
