Maruti Suzuki Fronx Crosses 75,000 Unit Sales Milestone in India
In little more than six months after being launched in the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 75,000 units of its popular Fronx SUV. As far as the cost is concerned, the Fronx is the most reasonably priced compact SUV in its segment with an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 7.5 lakh.
The Fronx compact SUV was unveiled by Maruti Suzuki India at the 2023 edition of the Auto Expo and went on sale in April this year. In little more than six months after being released in the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 75,000 units of the popular SUV so far. As far as the cost factor is concerned, the Fronx is the most reasonably priced compact SUV in its class. It is offered for sale in five variants: Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. Starting at Rs 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom), it's a cost-effective choice for people on a tight budget who still want to bring home a feature-loaded and performance-efficient SUV. Remarkably, in terms of sales, the Fronx recently surpassed the Baleno, another well-liked Maruti Suzuki model. This accomplishment is a testament to Fronx's popularity in the domestic market.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Design Highlights
On the design front, the Grand Vitara SUV's stance and style are combined with the Baleno hatchback's form to create the Fronx. As a result, the car radiates boldness and grabs attention when driving. Its striking appearance is attributed to its split grille design, which places the headlamps on the lower bumper. The Fronx's unique tailgate layout and integrated LED taillamp at the back further add to its allure.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Dimensions and Colour Options
The Fronx's size makes it ideal for both highway cruising and city driving. With a wheelbase of 2,520mm, its dimensions are 3,995mm in length, 1,765mm in width, and 1,550mm in height. Parking is made easy by the SUV's short turning radius of just 4.9 metres. The car also offers a roomy boot, which has 308 litres of storage space.
With seven attractive options to choose from, including Arctic White, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Celestial Blue, and Grandeur Grey, the Fronx offers a broad selection of exterior paint hues.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Powertrain Options
Customers who are intrigued by the SUV can choose between the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol and the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The turbo-petrol engine can generate up to 99bhp of maximum power and 147.6Nm of peak torque. On the contrary, the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers a maximum torque of 113Nm and a peak power output of 89bhp.
A 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual gearbox are the available transmission options for the Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine. For the naturally aspirated unit, there is a choice between a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic manual transmission (AMT).
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Interior and Features
The Fronx has a trendy burgundy and black theme within the cabin that gives the interior a refined feel. With its easy-to-use 9-inch touchscreen, the infotainment system's focal point offers quick access to a variety of options. With features like auto-dimming IRVM, a HUD display, auto-levelling driver's seat, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, wireless charging, connected car technology, a multi-functional steering wheel, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, automatic LED headlamps with DRLs, and cruise control, the Fronx is a technologically advanced vehicle.
When it comes to safety features, the new SUV boasts up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with Hill Hold Assist & Rollover Mitigation, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, three-point ELR seatbelts, and more.
