The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has emerged as a highly successful model for the company, achieving a remarkable sales milestone. In just 17.3 months since its launch in April 2023, the Fronx has exceeded the 2-lakh sales mark. The crossover, based on the Baleno, has performed consistently well in both domestic and international markets. The brand has revealed Delhi, NCR, Mumbai, Kochi, and Bengaluru as the top five markets for the Fronx. After setting a record as the first model to reach one lakh sales within 10 months, the Fronx sold an additional one lakh units in just 7.3 months.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Under the Hood
The Fronx is the sole model with a turbocharged petrol engine in Maruti Suzuki India's lineup. The unit belts out 99bhp of maximum power at 5,500rpm and 147Nm of peak torque between 2,000 and 4,500rpm. It is paired with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Additionally, the Fronx is available with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol mill, which produces 89bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4,400rpm, offered with a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed AMT. There is also a CNG variant, propelled by the same NA engine, which generates 76bhp at 6,000rpm and 98.5Nm of torque at 4,300rpm when running on CNG. This CNG option is only available with a five-speed manual transmission.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Features and Colour Options
The SUV has an extensive feature list comprising automatic LED headlights with DRLs, auto-dimming IRVM, ESP with Hill Hold Assist and Rollover Mitigation, auto-levelling driver's seat, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, rear AC vents, wireless charging, up to six airbags, HUD display, cruise control, a multi-functional steering wheel, automatic climate control, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
Interested customers can choose from a range of ten paint jobs: Nexa Blue (Celestial), Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, Bluish Black, Earthen Brown with Bluish Black Roof, Splendid Silver with Bluish Black Roof and Opulent Red with Black Roof.

The Fronx is priced between Rs 7.51 lakh and Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of competition, the SUV rivals several prominent models, including the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Toyota Taisor, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, and Renault Kiger.
