Maruti Suzuki Eeco Waiting Period Reaches up to 8 Weeks in India

The redesigned Maruti Suzuki Eeco has a waiting list of up to six to eight weeks from the day of the reservation. In India, the updated version of the vehicle made its entry in November 2022. It packs a 1.2-litre petrol engine under the bonnet that claims to offer 80bhp and 104.4Nm. In February this year, the automaker sold 10 lakh units of the Eeco van in our market. The Eeco van, which debuted in 2010, is available in 13 trim levels, including 5- and 7-seater, cargo, tour, and ambulance models. Industry reports asserted at that time that the van left behind all its counterparts in sales to become a segment leader with a 94% market share. Speaking of the updated Eeco, the model's extended waiting period is valid for the capital city and is subject to differ as per region, dealership, variant, and other factors.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco: Engine & Features

The Eeco's 1.2-litre gasoline engine delivers 80bhp and 104.4Nm, while in CNG, the motor produces 71bhp and 95Nm. A five-speed manual gearbox serves as the only means of gearbox, and the Eeco's claimed fuel efficiency is 19.71km/l for petrol and 26.78km/l for CNG mode.  

In terms of features, the vehicle has a new steering wheel, rotary controls for the manual air conditioner, a new digital instrument panel, an air purifier, reclining front seats, a child lock for the back sliding doors,  reverse parking sensors, an illuminated hazard switch, and more.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Eeco Recalled in India

In a recent development, the automaker recalled over 87,000 combined units of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and the Eeco in India. The company issued the recall due to a defective steering tie rod. The recall, according to the automaker, addresses a potential problem with a component of the steering tie rod that might provide a major safety risk for users because it could break and negatively impact steering and handling. According to the recall notice, 87,599 S-Presso and Eeco units produced between July 5, 2021, and February 15, 2023, are included in the recall.
