Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Design

Brezza Rear

Compared to the previous model, the 2022 Brezza's exterior styling is more sophisticated and has a lot of high-end design elements. For instance, the bumpers are sportier, the bonnet is flatter and broader, the front grille (on top-spec models) has a gun-metal finish, and there is visible body cladding all throughout. In the top-spec models, you also get twin LED projector lighting and LED fog lamps. The 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are likewise new. The car now has a bolder Brezza badge running over the tailboard and smaller LED taillights at the back. On the ZXI and ZXI+ versions, dual-tone colours are offered as an option. Maruti Suzuki also offers two unique exterior design packages called ‘Terrascape’ and ‘Metroscape’. The new Brezza’s overall design is definitely an improvement over that of the previous model – the car now has a more contemporary appearance.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Engine and Gearbox

Although the new Brezza is still powered by the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, it does get a few more modern features than those of its predecessor. This unit, known as the K15C, takes the place of the K15B component in the previous version of the engine. The K15C's dual-jet technology (two injectors per cylinder) is the primary functional distinction between the two engines. To compensate, the power and torque outputs have been slightly reduced to 102bhp from 103bhp and 137Nm from 138Nm.

All variations come equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox, much like the previous car. The new model's 6-speed torque converter has taken the place of the previous 4-speed unit in the automatic variant, which also has paddle shifters. Similarly, both manual and automatic variants now come standard with mild hybrid technology.

The Suzuki-connected car technology, an Arkamys surround sound system, an electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, a heads-up display, and other features are also available on higher trim levels.
