Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: Variants and Powertrain Details
The Alto K10's four trims are referred to as Std, LXi, VXi, and VXi+ in line with Maruti Suzuki's Arena models. A 5-speed manual gearbox is coupled to the 67bhp, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K10C petrol engine, which is also found in the S-Presso and the Celerio. The hatchback's VXi and VXi+ top-spec trims are the only ones that come with the 5-speed AMT gearbox. For the manual and automatic versions of the Alto K10, Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel economy of 24.39km/l and 24.90km/l, respectively.
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: Exterior Design
The 2022 Alto K10 is completely different from its predecessor and more in line with the current Celerio in terms of design. It is built on Maruti Suzuki's Heartect platform, which serves as the foundation for a wide range of models, from the Celerio to the Ertiga, and has consequently grown sufficiently in size. The current Alto K10 is 85mm longer and 45mm taller than the Alto 800, measuring 3,530mm in length, 1,490mm in width, and 1,520mm in height. Additionally, the wheelbase has increased by 20mm to 2,380mm. However, the width is identical to the Alto 800. The Alto K10 has a rounder and slightly more upright overall shape than its predecessor. It has a large hexagonal grille with a mesh-patterned air intake and wide sweptback halogen headlamps up front, which together resemble a laughing emoji. Although there are no provisions for fog lamps or LED DRLs, the front bumper has a few angular creases at the sides and a striking black trim element at the front. Besides, the new Alto K10 has lift-up door handles, just like the Celerio. The model comes with 13-inch steel wheels with plastic wheel covers as standard equipment.
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: Interior Features
Although completely different from the Alto 800's, the Maruti Alto K10's all-black interior is very straightforward and basic. The dashboard is where the power window controls are located, and a digital instrument panel is included. The new Alto K10 comes with manual air conditioning, a 4-speaker audio system, steering-mounted controls, a 7-inch Smart Play infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and steering-mounted controls. It has dual front airbags, ABS, and front seat belt pretensioners for safety. Moreover, the automaker is providing the Glinto and Impacto accessory packages. Both accessory packages include a number of exterior cosmetic updates, with the former emphasising chrome and the latter featuring accents in contrast orange.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: Price and Market Competitors
The popular entry-level hatchback is priced between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Renault Kwid, which costs between Rs 4.64 lakh and Rs 5.99 lakh, is the 2022 Alto K10's only direct competitor in this segment of the market. However, price-wise, buyers may also be considering the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso (Rs 4.25 lakh–Rs 5.99 lakh) and the current Alto 800 (Rs 3.39 lakh–Rs 5.03 lakh), which both have a similar price range to that of the new Alto K10.
