Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), one of the leading homegrown carmakers, has set a new record with its SUV – the XUV700. The popular SUV has attained a production milestone of 1 lakh units. The model made its debut in 2021, and its production and deliveries began in the months that followed. The car was well-received by customers, and the automaker has since sold over 90,000 units of the SUV across the country as of now. Because of the high demand, the firm has a massive delivery backlog and a year-long waiting period. The Mahindra XUV700 costs between Rs 14.01 and Rs 26.19 lakh in India (all prices, ex-showroom). Everest White, Midnight Black, Dazzling Silver, Red Rage, and Electric Blue are the six colour schemes that are offered for the vehicle. Further, buyers can choose from five different variants – MX, AX3, AX5, AX7, and AX7L.

Mahindra XUV700: Engine and Transmission

The Mahindra XUV700 SUV has three engine options on offer – one petrol and two diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 197bhp and 380Nm of peak torque. Although both diesel engines are 2.2-litre turbocharged units, the more powerful variant generates 182bhp of maximum power and 450Nm of peak torque, while the standard diesel engine offers 153bhp of maximum power and 360Nm of peak torque.

As far as the transmission is concerned, the Mahindra XUV700 is available with two different gearbox choices – a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic gearbox, both of which can be had with either a petrol or diesel engine. It is worth mentioning that the standard diesel engine can only be had with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, all powertrains now meet the new RDE and BS6 Phase 2 emission standards.

Mahindra XUV700: Features

The XUV700 comes with a host of features, including an ADAS suite, a 360-degree surround-view camera, LED lighting, dual-zone climate control, and front seats, which can be adjusted in six different ways and have welcome and memory functionalities. On top of that, it has a 12-speaker sound system, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, six airbags, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), traction control (TC), ISOFIX anchoring points, parking sensors, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), EBD, and driving modes, along with dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster.

Mahindra XUV700: Exterior Design

The XUV700 is bigger than the XUV500 it replaces, in terms of overall length (at 4,695mm, it is 110mm longer) and wheelbase (at 2,750mm, it is 50mm longer). However, its width is the same at 1,890mm. Plus, it is 30mm shorter than the XUV500 in height. All this translates into more space in the cabin. The XUV700's design is clearly influenced by the XUV500, notably in terms of its proportions, unique shoulder line, and profile. The redesigned and more upright grille, new C-shaped headlights with distinctive LED Daytime Running Lamps, new taillights, new diamond-cut alloy wheels, and the restyled bonnet, bumpers, and tailgate are just a few of the places where the design differs from the XUV500. The pop-out door handles that fit flush with the doors give it a sleek, contemporary appearance.
