The long waiting period for cars is not something new. There are several reasons behind the increased waiting periods, the high demand being the most common. Mahindra & Mahindra has notified having extended waiting periods for the XUV300 and the XUV700. In some areas, the XUV300 is reported to have a waiting period of up to 28 weeks. The XUV700, on the other hand, is said to have a waiting period that lasts up to 48 weeks. Coming to the XUV300, the car comes in different models - W4, W6, W8, and W8 (O). The base W4 variant, which is said to have a waiting period of up to 20 weeks, will be shipped before the automatic trims of the XUV300. The top-spec W8 and the W8(O) variants are reported to have the highest waiting period of up to 28 weeks.
As of now, there is no information concerning the XUV300 TurboSport variant for the waiting period. However, for the W6 and W8 MT variants of the Mahindra XUV300, the waiting period is expected to be 19 and 9 weeks, respectively.
Talking about the XUV700, the MX, the AX3, and the AX5 models are stated to have a waiting period ranging between 24 to 26 weeks. Meanwhile, the AX7 and the AX7L models are reported to have the highest waiting periods in the range, which apply to only a few locations.

Meanwhile, the waiting period for the Thar 2WD has also reached one year. The diesel variant has a lengthy waiting period of 16 to 18 months in some areas, whereas the Thar 2WD petrol version has an increased waiting period of three months. Given the long waiting time, the diesel version seems to have a high demand among buyers. We believe that it's fair pricing within the range has led to its popularity in India.
