The Mahindra Thar Roxx has a huge waiting period of between 10 to 15 months in India, depending on the model selected. It is available in six core variants (MX1, MX3, AX3 L, MX5, AX5 L, and AX7) and has a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh. The updated Thar differentiates itself with LED headlights with C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) and a body-coloured six-slat grille. Mahindra Thar Roxx: Focus on Production Increase
The Thar Roxx went on sale in India in August this year, and due to overwhelming demand, it garnered over 1.76 lakh orders within the first hour of reservations opening. Currently, Mahindra has a significant order backlog for the SUV, owing to its current production capacity of 9,500 units per month. The company intends to meet this demand by ramping up production in phases, with the second phase likely to increase Thar's volume to around 11,000 units per month.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Other Key Specifications
The Thar 5-door SUV can be had either with a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol or a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel. The transmission choices include a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed torque converter automatic. While the petrol models are only available with rear-wheel drive, the diesel version also offers a 4x4 drivetrain with a low-range transfer case for improved off-road capability.
In terms of features, the Thar Roxx has a fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats with leatherette upholstery, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat. It is fitted with six airbags, hill ascent and descent control, ADAS, electronic stability control (ESC), and a 360-degree camera for safety.

The SUV costs between Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 20.49 lakh for the RWD variants, and Rs 18.79 lakh and Rs 22.49 lakh for the 4WD models. These are ex-showroom figures.
