Benefits ranging from Rs 1.35 lakh to up to Rs 1.75 lakh are available to buyers of the Mahindra Thar. The variants eligible for the latest discount offers include the LX Petrol AT 2WD, LX Petrol MT 4WD, LX Diesel MT 2WD, LX Diesel MT 4WD, LX Petrol AT 4WD, and LX Diesel AT 4WD. Notably, the offer value may vary depending on the variant, dealership, and stock availability, among other variables. The lifestyle off-roader is presently available for an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 11.35 lakh, with the top-of-the-line variant costing Rs 17.60 lakh.
Mahindra Thar: Engine Options
The Thar 4x2 is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine capable of producing up to 117bhp and 300Nm of peak torque. This model is not automated; it only comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. In addition, the petrol 2.0-litre mStallion engine from the Thar 4x4 is still in use, mated to a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and generating 150bhp of peak power and 320Nm of maximum torque.
The model's 4x4 variant is equipped with two engines: a 2.0-litre mStallion mill and a 2.2-litre diesel unit that produces 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Unlike the 2WD vehicles, the 4x4 models can be paired with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The Thar 4x4 also has a manual-shift 4x4 transfer case, and certain variants include a manual-locking differential.
