Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) unveiled a host of exciting new products as well as concept cars at its recently held Futurescape event in Cape Town, South Africa. These included the much anticipated Vision Thar.e, or fully-electric Thar, in concept form, along with the Scorpio-N-based Global Pik-Up concept. The homegrown company also introduced a fresh logo for its line of electric SUVs in addition to the two major unveilings. Mahindra's iconic Twin Peaks logo, which was created two years back for the manufacturer's SUV lineup beginning with the XUV700 before being carried on to the rest of the SUV models in the brand's product line, served as the inspiration for the new e-SUV logo. Intriguingly, the new electric SUV symbol is anticipated to follow an identical trajectory. The new design, according to Mahindra, "is a symbol of infinite possibilities and a nod to the brand's racing heritage".

The New Logo
The new electric SUV emblem is essentially a wavy outline of the current Twin Peaks logo. The infinite symbol is also represented by the logo's more curved design. The emblem will be displayed on Mahindra's future Born Electric (BE) series of electric SUVs, the company has said. The infinity sign, a racetrack, the circular nature of intelligent sustainability, together with the Mahindra's "M" are said to be represented by the new logo in a total of four dimensions.
Mahindra's electric lineup presently includes only the XUV400 SUV, however, the car is going to continue to use the copper Twin Peaks emblem for the time being. The BE and XUV.e range is probably where the car manufacturer will be introducing the new logo, and perhaps the XUV400 in the near future. Moreover, the logo should appear on the future battery-powered models of the Thar, the Scorpio, and the Bolero.
Pratap Bose, Chief Design Officer of Mahindra & Mahindra, stated at the logo's reveal, "The new visual identity will address a global audience with its deep symbolism, The infinity sign represents the constant flow of energy; the racetrack denotes our racing pedigree and the exhilaration of performance, and the circularity indicates intelligent sustainability, which is powered equally by science and creativity towards a positive planet. This new identity is future-facing, sustainable, distinctive, and fun!"
Thar.e Marks Global Debut
With its five electric SUVs, all of which are based on the company's innovative INGLO EV skateboard platform, Mahindra & Mahindra forayed into the electric vehicle market on August 15th of last year. Two new sub-brands, XUV.e and BE, will sell these 5 SUVs. The XUV.e line of vehicles will be on the market first, with the XUV.e8 due out in December 2024 and the XUV.e9 coming out in April 2025. The BE.05 and the BE.07, however, are scheduled to arrive in October 2025 and April 2026, respectively. A few days back, India celebrated its 77th Independence Day, and the automaker debuted the awaited Thar EV concept at its yearly Futurescape event in Cape Town, South Africa.
Unlike the XUV.e8, the Thar.e is anticipated to be powered by two battery options: a 60kwh and an 80kWh battery pack, together with two electric motors from Volkswagen, one on each axle, to enable 4WD. In terms of performance, it's probable that the electric powertrain will provide immediate torque delivery, which will lead to quick acceleration.

The Thar.e's interior boasts a roomy cabin with plenty of headroom and legroom. It's interesting because after off-roading, you can spray out the cabin of the car to clean it out. The Thar.e also boasts 75 sounds created by A.R. Rahman, ranging from the door opening to various drive modes. According to Mahindra, the Thar.e will be created from scratch and will not be an electric variant of the existing Thar SUV. This Mahindra electric vehicle's front end is characterised by square LED headlights, a blocked-off rectangular grille with Thar.e engraved across it, and updated vertically stacked LED tail lamps. The left side of the grille has a 'Thar.e' badge next to the headlamps. Also, the electric car's front also features flat parts with clean horizontal lines. The Thar.e has all-terrain tyres, strong skid plates, and improved ground clearance to maintain its off-road credentials. It also receives aerodynamic upgrades for increased range and effectiveness.
