Mahindra Records 18% Year-on-Year Sales Growth in March
Mahindra sold 48,048 SUVs domestically in March 2025, reflecting a YoY increase of 18%. Exports reached 4,143 units, showing a remarkable 163% growth.

Mahindra sold 83,894 units in March 2025, which is a 23% growth year-on-year. Of the total, 48,048 units were SUVs sold domestically, reflecting an 18% increase compared to March 2024. Exports reached 4,143 units, showing a remarkable 163% growth. Mahindra’s year-to-date figures reached 5.51 lakh units, showing a 20% increase compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, exports saw significant improvement, rising 41% to 34,709 units.
The company’s commercial vehicle segment also played a key role in its success, with 23,951 units sold in the domestic market. These results underscore Mahindra's strong market presence both in India and abroad, driven by an expanding product lineup and effective growth strategies.

Commenting on this occasion, Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said ‘In March, we sold a total of 48,048 SUVs, with a growth of 18% and 83894 total vehicles, a 23% growth over last year. We also started the deliveries of our Electric Origin SUVs, where we see a strong continued demand momentum. The year ended on a very positive note with us selling over 5 lakh SUVs in the domestic market for the first time ever.’
Other Highlights
Mahindra recently implemented a significant price reduction on the top-spec variants of the XUV700, including the AX7 and AX7L, of up to Rs 75,000. The price cut applies to various other variants of the SUV as well, making the XUV700 even more accessible. In addition to the price reduction, Mahindra introduced a new Ebony Edition, offering a unique and stylish new option to customers. Powertrain-wise, the XUV700 gets two options. The first is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit that delivers 197bhp and 380Nm. The second option is a 2.2-litre diesel engine that generates up to 182bhp and 450Nm.
Additionally, Mahindra updated the popular Thar Roxx SUV with features such as new aerodynamic flat wipers (reducing cabin noise), keyless entry request sensors, and a sliding co-driver armrest. It also introduced a new Mocha Grey colour scheme, replacing the previous Ivory White in both the 4X2 and 4X4 models.

Notably, the 5-door Mahindra Thar retains its existing price range (Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 23.09 lakh, ex-showroom) and is offered in six trim levels (MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3 L, AX5 L, and AX7 L) with both 2WD and 4WD drivetrains.
