Automobili Lamborghini, an Italian luxury car manufacturer, announced a major milestone in 2023 when it sold more than 100 units in India for the first time. For the year, the company achieved a record with sales of 103 units. In comparison to the previous year, this was a significant 10% growth, as stated in the official business statement. With 92 units sold in 2022, Lamborghini India had a significant 33% increase over the previous year in the Indian market. In 2023, Automobili Lamborghini delivered more than 10,000 vehicles worldwide, setting a new record for yearly sales. The company's position in the luxury vehicle sector was further solidified by the final count of 10,112 units, which showed a major improvement above the sales numbers of 2022.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, remarked: “It’s a true source of pride for the whole company to have surpassed the 10,000-car delivery mark. Playing a role in achieving this milestone for Lamborghini is an honour for me and for all the people who work tirelessly to achieve this goal. This is a success made possible by the commitment of everyone, a major accomplishment based on true teamwork. But as always, we’re not stopping at single milestones, and we’re ready to take on more exciting new challenges in 2024.
With 6,087 units sold, the Urus continued to be the top model in its segment, while the Huracan came in second with 3,962 units. Prior to this year, in 2022, sales in the nation peaked at 69 units. Before then, 2019 had the highest sales of 52 units.
Lamborghini to Compete in WEC Hypercar Class
The Lamborghini SC63 LMDh will be one of the cars competing in the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans. When it comes to the new car, Lamborghini is being careful. The SC63 will only race in four Michelin Endurance Cup events in 2024, skipping the rest of the season. The Six Hours of the Glen, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, and the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta are some of these events. The WEC challenge will last all season, but in the beginning, only one car will be in the early races. However, Lamborghini has made it clear that it will enter two cars in the 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours.

The SC63 is different from the Porsche 963 because it has a different V-8 engine. With its "cold vee" design, the new 3.8-litre twin-turbo engine puts the turbos outside for easier maintenance and a lower centre of gravity. Lamborghini says that this new engine will be the basis for the company's upcoming car that will replace the Huracan. It will use the same seven-speed gearbox, battery, and motor-generator unit used in LMDh races to send power to the back wheels through a standard hybrid setup.
