Kia Syros SUV Crosses 15,000 Unit Sales Milestone in India
Kia India reported domestic sales of 25,525 units in March, reflecting a 19.3% growth compared to the 21,400 units sold during the same month in 2024.

Kia India expanded its sub-4-metre SUV lineup in February this year, launching the Syros, a more premium alternative to the Sonet. Within just two months, the Syros has gained significant traction, selling 15,986 units and contributing nearly 20% to Kia’s total sales in March. Priced between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 17.80 lakh (ex-showroom), the SUV has six variants on offer: HTK, HTK (O), HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, and HTX Plus (O). In terms of recent sales performance, Kia India recorded 25,525 domestic sales in March alone, marking a 19.3% increase from the 21,400 units sold in March 2024. The company’s cumulative sales for the full fiscal year surpassed 2.55 lakh units, representing a 4% year-on-year increase over the 2.46 lakh units recorded in FY 2023-24.

The Sonet emerged as the brand’s top-selling model, accounting for 30% of total sales, followed by the Seltos and Carens with contributions of 26% and 22%, respectively. The Syros also made a notable impact within a short span. Kia’s positive momentum extended to its quarterly performance, with sales reaching 75,576 units – up 15.6% from the 65,369 units sold in the same period last year. Additionally, Kia exported 26,892 units, reinforcing its presence in international markets.
Kia Syros SUV: Engine Options

Kia offers the Syros with two engine options: a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder unit delivering 118bhp of maximum power and 172Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 114bhp and 250Nm. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard across all variants, while automatic transmissions vary – petrol models are paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), whereas the diesel version is equipped with a six-speed torque converter.

Inside, the Syros features premium leatherette upholstery, enhancing the cabin’s refined appeal. Its tall-boy design ensures generous headroom and legroom, while the 2,550mm wheelbase provides a spacious interior, surpassing competitors like the Brezza, Venue, and Nexon. Rear passengers benefit from sliding and reclining seats for adjustable comfort, as well as segment-first cooled rear seats (available from the base variant). Additionally, the front seats also offer cooling for both the seat cushion and backrest.

Safety-wise, the model is well-equipped with advanced features, including a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, Level-2 ADAS, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, and six airbags for enhanced driver assistance.
