Kia India Surpasses 1 lakh CKD Export Milestone, to Double Volumes by 2030

Kia India has achieved a significant milestone, exporting over 1 lakh Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units from its state-of-the-art Anantapur plant since commencing shipments in June 2020. This milestone reflects the company's steadfast efforts to make India a key cornerstone of its international strategy, focusing on both manufacturing and export capabilities.

Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer, said, 'India is a key market for Kia Corporation, serving not only as a strong sales driver but also as an emerging export hub. This milestone highlights Kia India’s commitment to manufacturing excellence, innovation, and delivering value to global customers. We are proud to see models like the Seltos, Sonet, and the Carens perform strongly in international markets. We are also grateful for the government’s export-friendly policies having played a crucial role in strengthening India’s position within the global automotive value chain. Looking ahead, we aim to expand our CKD footprint to the Middle East and Africa to double our export volume by 2030.'

Enhancing India's Position in International Markets

Currently contributing 50% of Kia’s worldwide CKD exports, Kia India plays a pivotal role in the brand’s international growth strategy. Looking to the future, the company plans to double its export volumes by 2030, driven by increasing demand in key markets such as Uzbekistan, Ecuador, and Vietnam. By the end of this year, the company aims to deliver over 38,000 CKD units. Leading this effort are popular models like the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens, which are widely appreciated for their cost-effectiveness and advanced features.

Kia India is also strategically focusing on expanding its reach into the Middle East and Africa. As part of its growth objectives, the company aims to double its CKD export volumes by 2030, signaling a major scale-up in operations. This expansion is closely tied to India’s growing influence in the global automotive industry, supported by government policies that foster both manufacturing and export growth.

Since its inception, Kia India has exported a total of 3.67 lakh units, underscoring the robust international demand for vehicles manufactured in India. Models like the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens continue to drive the brand’s success, while the EV6 highlights Kia’s dedication to sustainable mobility through advanced electric vehicle solutions. Each model is equipped with modern safety features, infotainment, and efficient powertrains, ensuring their competitiveness across various markets.
