Kia CPO vehicles will come with up to two years and 40,000 kilometres of warranty coverage, as well as up to four free periodic maintenance visits.
Kia has announced the launch of its certified pre-owned car business in India, known as Kia CPO. With dedicated Kia CPO outlets, the firm hopes to provide clients with a new-age experience that enables them to sell, purchase, or exchange pre-owned vehicles while also providing hassle-free ownership transfers and customised financial choices.
Kia is one of the fastest OEMs to initiate a pre-owned automobile dealership operation, having done so little over three years after the company arrived in the Indian market. “Currently, Indian customers have limited access to certified and verified information when it comes to the pre-owned car segment, and we intend to change this notion with our entry into the business. Our proactive approach of starting CPO business at such an early stage of our existence in the country will ensure that all systems and processes are in place even before the first lot of our products comes under the average replacement age,” said Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India.
He further continued, “We’ve noticed that more than one-third of customers of new Kia cars are replacement buyers, and we aim to facilitate them through our certified pre-owned car business. Customers can exchange any used car with new Kia cars, and we are also offering a combined packaged deal for exchange customers, with a secure and instant payment transfer option.”
The company has also developed a mobile app for digital evaluation that integrates real-time data and offers scientific pricing recommendations. Before being made accessible to customers, every Kia vehicle that is certified and sold through Kia CPO will have less than five years of age, 1 lakh kilometres mileage, and would have undergone a thorough 175-point quality inspection.
These cars will be structurally sound, have documented ownership and service records, and only original Kia parts will be used in their refurbishment. Kia CPO will serve as a one-stop solution for buyers, while non-Kia vehicles will be available on an as-is, where-is basis.
Kia has ambitious plans to expand its CPO business in the country to more than 30 stores by the end of 2022. It currently has 15 outlets in 14 cities, including Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Cochin, Calicut, Nasik, Amritsar, Kannur, Malappuram, and Baroda.
