JSW MG Motor India Sells 4,002 Units in February, EVs Dominate with 78% Share
MG India is preparing to launch the MG Cyberster and M9 Limousine, both to be sold exclusively through the brand’s ‘MG Select’ premium dealership network.

JSW MG Motor India sold 4,002 units in February 2025, with electric vehicles (EVs) accounting for 78 per cent of total sales. This reflects the company’s increasing focus on EVs and the growing demand for electric mobility in India. MG Motor’s EV lineup, including the ZS EV and Comet EV, continues to drive a significant share of its sales. The brand's steady push towards electrification, along with improving charging infrastructure, has contributed to this trend. As MG Motor transitions under the JSW Group’s partnership, it is working to expand its presence in the Indian market. The recent production milestone of 15,000 units indicates its growing demand among EV buyers and steady progress in the segment.

For those unaware, the British carmaker’s electric vehicle portfolio includes the likes of the Comet EV, Windsor EV, and the ZS EV, with the Windsor proving to be a key sales driver since its launch. Other Developments
MG Motor recently made adjustments to the Astor lineup, introducing an electric sunroof in base-spec trims while discontinuing the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol mill. The company also rolled out the Blackstorm Edition for the Comet, priced at Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The hatchback features a fully blacked-out body to enhance the appeal of its entry-level electric vehicle.
At the same time, MG temporarily reduced operations at its Halol facility in Gujarat to implement upgrades ahead of upcoming model launches. The move also focused on expanding Windsor EV production capacity to meet increasing demand.
