With the help of wireless TREEL sensors, JK Tyre has developed a new Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which sends real-time data to the owner's smartphone, via Bluetooth, onto the CARE360 mobile app.
JK Tyre has officially ventured into the connected mobility space with the advent of the wireless Treel sensors, a result of JK Tyre’s recent financial acquisition in TREEL Mobility Solutions Pvt Ltd. While a TPMS is already a familiar sight on some premium vehicles, JK Tyre is bringing the technology within closer reach of more common, everyday cars. The TREEL sensors, located on the inner surface of the wheels with a stainless belt, feature a Bluetooth range of up to 100 feet & offer real-time tyre temperature data ranging from 0-100psi, along with temperature variations in the range of -20-degree celsius to 100-degree celsius.
These sensors send all the data to the CARE360 mobile app, which then allows users to keep a track of their car's tyre condition while also keeping a tab on records like fuel expenses, insurance renewal dates, servicing sessions, tyre rotation, etc. Launched in two versions, depending on application (Personal & Enterprise), TREEL Personal is further available as a Bike Kit, Car Kit & a Connected Car Kit. While the former two comprise of 2 and 5 low-energy Bluetooth-enabled sensors, respectively, with the CARE360 app, the latter also brings into the picture a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) OBD pod (with a Y Cable for attachment). The OBD pod gets GSM connectivity, thanks to a pre-installed GPRS-enabled SIM card. The OBD pod can thus be easily used for vehicle tracking purposes.
The Connected Car Kit also comes with a free first-year subscription package, following which, customers can renew their annual subscriptions at a cost of ₹ 1,200 per year. As of now, TREEL sensors are officially available at 700 JK Tyre stores across India.
