If you want to keep a Jeep Compass in your garage, you'll need to shell out more money from your pockets than before because the price of the SUV has recently increased in India. The cost of Jeep's entry-level SUV has gone up by Rs 43,000. Post the hike, the car's ex-showroom starting price in India is Rs 21.73 lakh. The American automaker dropped the petrol engine from the Compass lineup in May of this year because it did not adhere to BS6 Phase 2 emissions standards.
Although there is no official confirmation, online reports suggest that the company may introduce a new turbo-petrol engine as a replacement option in the future. This particular motor is a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol that was first used in the 2018 version of the Jeep Renegade. Now, let's take a look at the new prices for the Jeep Compass.

According to several industry reports, petrol variants used to make for about half of all Compass sales. However, when the 1.4-litre petrol engine was phased out, its sales fell from 550–650 units per month to 250–300 units. The carmaker is reportedly aiming to provide a new turbo-petrol engine as a replacement option, most likely to boost sales for the entry-level SUV.
