Isuzu Motors India recently reached a significant milestone with the production of its 1,00,000th vehicle at the Sri City plant in Andhra Pradesh. This achievement was celebrated with the rollout of the highly regarded Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross, known for its tough build. Commenting on the milestone, Rajesh Mittal, President & Managing Director, Isuzu Motor India, said, 'At Isuzu Motors India, we take immense pride in our journey here in India. Over the years, the company has achieved significant milestones in both production and exports. One key highlight is that around 22% of our production line workforce comprises talented women. Isuzu Motor India started its operations in 2016 with the opening of its Sri City plant. In 2020, the company advanced to Phase II, launching a press shop and engine assembly unit to enhance its production capabilities. Since then, the facility has produced more than 14 lakh pressed parts.
In the passenger vehicle segment, Isuzu offers the premium MU-X SUV, priced at Rs 37 lakh, and the popular D-Max V-Cross pickup truck, starting at Rs 25.51 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom figures. Additionally, the company serves the commercial vehicle market with models such as the S-Cab and D-Max, meeting a variety of customer needs.
Isuzu MU-X, D-Max V Cross: Mechanical Details
Coming to the mechanical side of things, the MU-X is driven by a 1.9-litre diesel engine delivering 161bhp and 360Nm of torque. It is available in both 4x2 and 4x4 variants, each paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 4x4 model is further enhanced with a ‘shift-on-the-fly’ dial for improved off-road performance. It faces competition from segment leaders such as the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.

The 2024 iteration of the D-Max V-Cross is also powered by a 1.9-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 163bhp and 360Nm, mated to either a six-speed manual or torque converter. The truck is available in four-wheel and rear-wheel drive configurations. The lifestyle pickup sports exterior elements such as an engine hood garnish, a redesigned grille, a front bumper guard, and blacked-out wheels.
