Toyota Hilux Joins the Indian Army Fleet

The Indian Army now has a Toyota Hilux Pickup off-road vehicle in its fleet. The armed forces received the first batch of Hilux pickup trucks from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), who formally announced the delivery. Before being added to the Indian armed forces' fleet, the Hilux pickup truck was put through rigorous terrain and weather testing, including testing in temperatures below zero and at altitudes of 13,000 feet. The automaker didn't specify how many Hilux trucks were handed over to the Northern Command of the Indian Army in its official press release, but it did highlight the global sales of its noted off-roader pickup, which have exceeded 20 million units in more than 180 countries.

It comes with a price tag of about USD 55,000 (Rs 45.30 lakh).
