Indian Road Safety Campaign, in collaboration with Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, is conducting a road safety marathon in India called Annual Safe Road Half Marathon 2018 from JLN Stadium on March 18, 2018.

The main purpose of the road safety run fest is for the people to realise that if they can run through terrains of Delhi together to reach a destination while racing against time and simultaneously appreciating and respecting the presence of others, then they can also use the same appreciation and respect for others at different times to reduce the number of accidents and, consequently, deaths on the roads.

This Marathon will be a part of the iSAFE – an inter-college competition organised by IRSC, IIT Delhi, in collaboration with MoRTH and DTP for all colleges across India with the vision to make roads safer for all and achieve path breaking changes at the same time.

The Marathon would begin and end at the JLN Stadium and would cover a route across some of the busiest locations of New Delhi, promoting the cause among more than 50 lakh people during the course, before and after the marathon. Prizes worth Rs. 1.5 lakh will be distributed to winners. The Marathon is expected to have a participation of about 4,000 – 5,000 people.

The Annual Safe Road Half Marathon 2018 would have the presence of various dignitaries from Ministry, Niti Aayog, Delhi Police, etc.
