Hyundai Motor India YoY Sales Decline by 10% in July, Sells 64,201 Units in September

Hyundai Motor India saw a 10% year-on-year (YoY) sales decline last month, reflecting challenges in the competitive market. In September 2024, the company sold 64,201 units, continuing to hold a significant position in the Indian automotive industry. Despite the drop in sales, Hyundai remains focused on offering a wide range of vehicles, including SUVs and electric models. The sales decline may be due to market changes or shifts in consumer preferences, but Hyundai aims to recover through its strong product lineup and strategic efforts. The company's performance in India remains important as it faces increasing competition and evolving industry trends.

Hyundai India reported total sales of 64,201 units in September 2024, comprising 51,101 units in the domestic market and 13,100 units in exports. This reflects a 10% decline compared to September 2023. However, overall sales saw a slight 1% increase from August 2024. Domestic sales for September 2024, at 51,101 units, were down nearly 6% year-on-year (YoY) but showed a 3% growth from August's 49,525 units. The manufacturer exported 13,100 units last month, marking a 25% dip compared to the 17,400 units exported in September 2023 and a 4% decline from August 2024’s 13,650 units. Notably, CNG vehicles made up 13.8% of sales, while SUVs accounted for 70%. From January to September 2024, Hyundai sold nearly 5.78 lakh units.

Sharing his thoughts on sales numbers, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL remarked, 'In September, we introduced the bold new Hyundai Alcazar, which redefined the benchmark of aspirational 6/7-seater SUV.
