Hyundai India Year-on-Year Sales Decline 6.9% in November

In the domestic market, Hyundai delivered 48,246 vehicles in November 2024, reflecting a 2.4% YoY decline.

Hyundai sold a total of 61,252 units in November 2024, representing a decrease of 6.9% from the previous year's sales of 65,801 units. Compared to the 70,078 units sold in October, the sales declined by 12.5%. In the domestic market, Hyundai delivered 48,246 vehicles, reflecting a 2.4% decline. Meanwhile, the exports reached 13,006 units, a substantial 20.5% drop from the 16,350 units shipped in November 2023. On a year-to-date basis, the company's total sales dipped by 0.04% to 7.09 lakh units. Of these, 5.63 lakh vehicles were sold in the domestic market, a 0.7% rise. On the other hand, exports were 1.45 lakh units, indicating a 2.8% decrease.

Commenting on HMIL sales, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director, and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, ‘HMIL’s push towards fortifying SUV supremacy continued in November with SUVs contributing 68.8% of our total Domestic sales. We also bolstered HMIL’s presence in the hinterland of India, by achieving the highest-ever monthly rural contribution of 22.1% in November. Our innovative Hy-CNG technology continues to strengthen HMIL’s CNG sales, with a 14.4% contribution in November 2024.'

Hyundai October 2024 Sales: A Quick Glance

The South Korean automaker had total sales of 70,078 units, comprising 55,568 units sold in the domestic market and 14,510 units overseas. Domestically, there was a modest year-on-year increase of 0.8% compared to October 2023. However, the exports showed a stronger growth of 8.6%.

From January to October 2024, Hyundai's Year-to-Date (YTD) performance showed a 6% year-on-year growth, with total sales reaching around 6.48 lakh units. While the domestic sales (5.15 lakh units) surged by 1.1%, the exports (1.33 lakh units) saw a substantial rise of 26.6%.

Other Highlights

Following the XUV400, Thar Roxx, and XUV 3XO, Bharat NCAP revealed the crash test safety results for the Hyundai Tucson.

The SUV achieved a 5-star safety rating, with 30.84 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection, and 41 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. The Hyundai Tucson is priced between Rs 29.02 lakh and Rs 35.94 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
