Hyundai India Reports 3% YoY Sales Growth in March with 67,320 Units
The SUV segment remained a key pillar of Hyundai’s success, contributing 68.5% of domestic sales for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced total sales of about 7.62 lakh units for the financial year 2024-25. This figure includes nearly 5.99 lakh units sold in the domestic market and approximately 1.63 lakh units exported internationally. In March 2025 alone, Hyundai recorded 67,320 unit sales, comprising 51,820 units sold within India and 15,500 units shipped abroad, reflecting a 2.6% year-on-year (YoY) growth.
Commenting on HMIL sales, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, 'Solidifying our position further in India, HMIL continued its reign as the second largest passenger vehicle OEM in FY 24-25, thanks to the unparalleled trust of our customers in brand Hyundai. Our versatile SUV line-up grew stronger this financial year with the launch of the Hyundai Creta Electric - our first indigenous EV and also the bold new Hyundai Alcazar. India’s favourite SUV, the new Hyundai Creta, continues to build on its popularity, by becoming India’s No.1 SUV with sales of 52,898 units in the Jan-Mar quarter of FY 24-25. HMIL further set industry benchmarks by surpassing the milestone of 25 lakh SUV sales and 15 lakh Creta sales since inception (domestic + exports).'

The SUV segment remained a key pillar of Hyundai’s success, contributing 68.5% of domestic sales for the fiscal year. The Hyundai Creta maintained its status as India’s best-selling SUV, with 52,898 units sold between January and March 2025.
Additionally, the company achieved notable milestones, surpassing 25 lakh cumulative SUV sales and 15 lakh units of the Creta (across domestic and export markets) since its debut. Further strengthening its leadership as India’s largest passenger vehicle exporter, the automaker shipped over 1.63 lakh units globally in FY 2024-25, solidifying its role as a critical production hub for Hyundai’s global operations.
Hyundai Inster Concept Breaks Cover

Moving to global updates, Hyundai recently unveiled the Inster-inspired Insteroid EV concept in Seoul. The Insteroid, inspired by last year’s Inster, merges gaming aesthetics with extensive customisation options. This concept vehicle boasts a more aggressive design, featuring track-focused wheels, aerodynamic upgrades like a prominent rear spoiler and air vents on the wheel arches, and an elongated, wider body. Its soft white exterior, accented by bold orange highlights, reinforces its striking presence.
Inside, the cabin follows a minimalist racing-inspired theme, equipped with bucket seats, a roll cage, and a custom instrument panel. The interior incorporates 3D-knit fabric made from recycled materials, reducing waste. Hyundai emphasises full adjustability, aligning with its philosophy: “Build it, play it, break it, repeat.”

The Insteroid also features a unique sound signature, enhancing the driving experience. Expanding on the Inster’s dynamic appeal, it introduces Drift Mode, blending performance with entertainment. Additional interactive features, including the Beat House sound system and Message Grid, offer personalised engagement, making every ride more immersive.
