Hyundai Exter Waiting Period Reaches up to 38 Weeks in India

The waiting period for Hyundai's micro SUV—Exter—is currently up to 38 weeks in India. The SUV rivals the likes of the Tata Punch, the Nissan Magnite, and the Renault Kiger in India.

The Hyundai Exter, which was launched in India last year on July 10 with a starting price of Rs. 6 lakhs (ex-showroom), has an extended waiting period. Its EX and EX(O) models have the longest waiting period, which ranges from 36 to 38 weeks from the day of booking. On the other hand, the remaining petrol and CNG versions have a waiting duration of up to 18 and 14 weeks, each. Hyundai's Micro SUV is offered in five variants—EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect, as well as, two dual-tone and five monotone exterior paint options. Notably, the Exter won the 2024 Indian Car of the Year award. It surpassed the Honda Elevate, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, and a range of other models to clinch the prestigious title. Hyundai Exter: Exterior and Interior

The Hyundai Micro SUV features projector headlights, a black mesh radiator grille, and an H-shaped LED daytime running light. Besides that, it has alloy wheels with a diamond-cut style and black side panels. Its rear profile encompasses an integrated roof spoiler, shark-fin antenna, rear wiper, H-shaped LED taillights, and a tailgate with slanted rear glass. Inside, there is an 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear AC vents, voice-activated motorised sunroof, automatic climate control, wireless charging, a cooled glove box, and other amenities.

Hyundai Exter: Safety Suite 

When it comes to safety, the car is equipped with a plethora of features that guarantee maximum protection. These features include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management, six airbags, a burglar alarm, Hill Assist Control, ABS with EBD, three-point seat belts, and reminders for all five seats. Moreover, the car also boasts a rear parking camera, automatic headlamps, Day & Night IRVM (with Bluelink controls), child seat anchor (ISOFIX), rear defogger, and more.

Hyundai Exter: Under the Bonnet

The Exter is equipped with a 1.2-litre Kappa 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that delivers 82bhp and 113.8Nm. It can be coupled with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. While operating on CNG, it produces 68bhp and 95.2Nm, paired with only a five-speed manual gearbox. The CNG variant is only available in the S and SX mid-spec variants. All other petrol variants, except the base model, come with both manual and AMT gearboxes.
