Hyundai Creta SUV Emerges as India's Best-Selling Model in March 2025
Capping off the fiscal year, the Hyundai Creta posted record-breaking figures with approximately 1.95 lakh units sold – a 20% year-on-year growth.

The Hyundai Creta emerged as the brand’s top-selling model in March 2025, further cementing its dominance in the compact SUV segment. During the fourth quarter of FY 2024–25 (January to March), Hyundai moved 52,898 units of the Creta. High-end ICE trims accounted for nearly a quarter of those sales, while the new Creta EV was responsible for over 70% of Hyundai’s total electric vehicle deliveries that quarter. Demand skewed towards well-equipped models, with close to 69% of buyers opting for sunroof variants and 38% choosing connected tech-equipped versions. Capping off the fiscal year, the Creta posted record-breaking figures with approximately 1.95 lakh units sold – a 20% year-on-year growth – earning it the title of India’s third best-selling passenger vehicle for FY25. The price of the Creta ICE begins at Rs 11.11 lakh, while the EV variant retails for a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom.

Hyundai Creta, Creta Electric: Mechanical Specs
The Hyundai Creta is available with a selection of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol unit generates 113bhp and 144Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol variant delivers a more robust 158bhp and 253Nm. The diesel version offers 114bhp along with 250Nm of torque. Buyers can choose from several transmission options, including a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), and a seven-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT).

The Creta EV is available with two battery pack options: a 42kWh unit and a larger 51.4kWh version. The 42kWh battery delivers an output of 133bhp, while the 51.4kWh pack produces a stronger 169bhp. In terms of driving range, the larger battery offers up to 473 km on a full charge, whereas the smaller one provides a range of approximately 390 km.
Hyundai Creta: What's Inside?
In terms of features, the Creta is equipped with leather-trimmed seats, a fully digital instrument panel, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additional highlights include LED reading lights, a rain sensor, ventillated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a rear wireless charger, an eight-way powered driver’s seat, a new smart key, ambient lighting, a premium 8-speaker Bose audio setup, and ergonomically contoured rear seats.

On the safety front, the SUV includes six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management, hill-start assist, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
