Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder & More Help Toyota Record 9% YoY Growth in March
Toyota announced its sales figures for March 2023 in India. In comparison to FY22's sales of 1,23,770 units, the company sold 1,74,015 units in FY23, marking a 41% increase. Read below to know what contributed to the company's sales growth.
Toyota India finished the recent fiscal year outstandingly by registering an increase of 41%. It sold 1,74,015 vehicles in FY23, up from 1,23,770 units in 2021-22. The carmaker also reported that its sales in March rose by 9% year over year to 18,670 units. During the same time last year, the company sold 17,131 units in the domestic market. Coming to the March 2023 sales, the company reported a volume increase of 1,539 units. Compared to the 15,267 units sold in February 2023, MoM sales, on the other hand, increased by a whopping 22.29%. According to reports, several models, including the Innova Hycross, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Innova Crysta, and the Hilux, etc., helped to reach the increased sales figures for March.
Toyota India 2023 March Sales: Company's Response
With a positive YoY and MoM increase in the previous month, Toyota India is quite hopeful of a more promising future. The firm has credited its recent growth to its strategy of introducing greener and more sophisticated technology options as well as launching new products in the market. It further believes that putting a strong emphasis on customer service has allowed it to successfully meet its market requirements.

According to the carmaker, the growing popularity of the newly introduced Innova Hycross and Urban Cruiser Hyryder variants have contributed to its sales in March 2023. Further, the recently launched Hilux has also received an excellent customer response, thanks to its versatility and all-terrain capability, supported by great styling and driving comfort. The carmaker also started accepting pre-orders for the new Innova Crysta Diesel last month. All these are some of the reasons, which company believes assisted in sales growth in March 2023.
Toyota India 2023 February Sales
In February 2023, the carmaker reported 75% year-over-year sales growth. Toyota delivered 15,338 units in February 2023 as opposed to the 8,745 units it had sold in the domestic market in February 2022. This increase was attributed by the automaker to the recently released hybrid models, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the new Toyota Innova Hycross.

A New Toyota MPV in the Works?
According to several industry sources, Toyota is gearing up to launch an all-new MPV this year in India. Right now, we have no confirmation from the brand, but market speculations reveal that the upcoming MPV will draw power from the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder K15C Dualjet engine as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which delivers 103bhp and 136Nm.
